The Heart
The name Maximo comes from the Spanish expression lo máximo. Its literal translation means ‘the best’, but for me it’s a phrase connected to family. It was what my cousins and I, as kids growing up in Chile, would say out loud whenever we experienced gigantic feelings of excitement and a sense of adventure we wished would never end. It was the best of times because it was time we shared together. It’s this feeling that I wish to bring to every one of our productions.

With strong networks and friends in the US, Australia and Chile, Maximo is a Sydney-based independent production company dedicated to providing a home for creative talent and supporting their vision from start to finish.

As a producer, I feel very passionate about supporting the creative team and their vision from start to finish. My goal is to always encourage them to make brave choices in every one of their creative endeavours and in ways that feel true and right to them.
I believe that if one decides to be a writer or a creative of any kind in this lifetime, it’s because at some point along the way, something very personal coming from deep inside of us has been trying to get our attention, wanting and needing to be heard … that something is our voice, and it’s our responsibility to listen to it and find our own ways to let it come out and be heard. For it is only when we speak up that we can hear our own voice and achieve true creative freedom.
